If I were an MS shareholder, I would be OUTRAGED.
How much did they pay for that? To be fair, I don't recall if MS bought just VPC or all of Connectix, but it hardly matters!
That's got to be a giant pile of shareholder wealth pissed away in a half-assed attempt at being part of (read: smothering) the increasing popularity and utility of Apple.
I would really love to see the numbers on that boondogle.
The connectix deal wasn't a 'boondogle' at all - connectix had other products than VPC. MS Virtual Server is based on the code they got from connectix. The server virtualization market is absolutely huge compared to VPC's potential market. I'm sure to Microsoft, VPC was a drop in the bucket in terms of revenue, and if I were a shareholder, I'd be happy as hell that they dropped it.

Aquisition for Mac OS X is also a very stable, very efficient and easy to use P2P program. I use it to preview songs before I actually buy them on iTMS... ;) Good luck!
I ususally find that the 30 sec preview is enough for me to decide if I want it or not except for the songs where the preview is just the first 30 sec of the song where most of it is an intro and not a clip from the middle.

Hi,
This is my first post. I was wondering if anyone knows how to set the metronome in Logic Pro to only click during part of a recording. I would like it to click while recording up to a point and then continue recording but stop clicking. I have played around with the count-in feature and the pre-roll, but have not had much success achieving what I describe above. Thanks,
-m
note: if there is a more appropriate place to post this thread, please let me know.
There might be 10 ways to do this but I think Volume Automation might be what you want. You might have to make a real audio track with clicks on it like a very boring wood block solo and use that in place of the clicks. Then after the 20th bar or whatever the wood block track just stops or the volume goes to zero

lol 1 last question is is it 1 cable or do i have to buy the adapter? i looked online for just one cable but i keep getting the adapter instead of 1 cord. but my guess is that you have a regular optical cord then plug the 1 end into the adapter? :S

What different types can a subscript be? For example, when I was learning BASIC (we use stone knives and bearskins in those days), and expression like "A(X)", where A was the array and X was the index, was verbalized as "A sub X". X was the subscript.

I don't have anything to add but my thanks *I'm planning to buy an Airport Extreme soon to replace the total heap of **** that is the Netgear router provided to me by Virgin Media. I wanted to add a USB drive for Time Machine backups and network storage that had a low power consumption and was quiet, and it seems I didn't even need to start a thread to ask for advice *everything's already been answered in this topic! :)

I'm not very happy with the left column, but overall it looks good.
Three mentions of page 2 articles on the front page though is too much I think. Maybe you can leave off the page 2 forum box at the right?

OBLIVION= first choice. That's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_overview.htm) to be exact. Open world RPG, the first solo RPG that was worthy of exploring just for the fun of it. See that mountain way over there? Walk to it and climb. :)

Has anyone tested it to see if it works on VPN or not? I'm not at home so I don't want to update from work and not be able to watch TV the rest of the day.

I save a Pages document in Word format and when I open it in Word there are 2 extra pages, the original document has 2 pages full of word lines.
Word is seeing the document with 5 extra lines for each page, therefore the two page document is now 4 pages in Word.
The paper size is the same: letter.
The margins are also the same.
The formatting seems to be the same: font size, paragraphs, bullets and tabs.
The versions I am using are Pages '09 and Word 2011.
My question is if you have any idea on how to make the document the same in Word with only 2 pages.
I need to create this document in Word.

About my post above:
Woz' new company just acquired, this month, the following company:
Jazz Semiconductor is a US based pure-play semiconductor wafer foundry that serves customers targeting wireless, optical networking, power management, storage, aerospace/defense and other high-performance applications.
Sounds interesting!

If you search, you can find a download link that is hosted on Microsoft's own servers. (Or, their digital-distribution partner, Digital River, anyway.)
Which is linked in post #2 of this thread :)

I am having a similar ethernet slowdown problem which seems to be relater to the 10..6.6 or 10.6.7 update. Lots of reports over on the Apple discussion boards, but I have not found a workable solution. Suggestions include using a new cable, changing dns settings. Your guess is as good as any.
I have an iMac that seems to have no problem. But my Mac Pro is at about 10% speed.

I'm thinking around the time the Nehalem Mac Pros come out. End of this year, maybe.
Took Apple a year and a half to update the original Mac Pro - you think they will close the gap between the current and next-gen to below 12 months??!
Anyway... I'm holding out for an ACD announcement... and nothing. It's been two years without change, that's crazy. Has forced me to consider Dell... :(

You're right.
I looked at the docs for applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed and it says:
It sends this message regardless of whether there are still panels open. (A panel in this case is defined as being an instance of NSPanel or one of its subclasses.)
So you need to handle this somehow, possibly like this:
- (BOOL)applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed:(NSApplication *)theApplication
{
