Now that VPN does not work directly from the iPad, Instead of jail breaking your device and hacking on some illegal source (which they can make some validation code later that you cannot hack in yourself). Why not connect to a vpn'd tether (iphone / android device). Essentially it is the same thing but the IOS api cannot account for if the device being connected through vpn.

Its the crapy drivers Apple has crippled an almost perfect laptop for a switcher or multi OS user. There are alternatives right now but they are complex hacks and best avoided in my opinion. I guess we will have to wait for the next rev. There is a new Bootcamp update.. but it does not mention a new Trackpad driver in the release notes.

Was the iMac working ok before you added the RAM? Where did you buy the "added RAM"? It sounds like the RAM is either not seated properly or it's cheap and/or faulty.

When MS bought vPC I figured that was the beginning of the end. They have a history of destroying great Mac products.

:mad:Theres really no way to do it on OSX if they are windows programs. As long as you use a bit of common sense, you shouldn't have a problem with Windows on the Mac. Any virus, trojan, or malware will only affect the Windows partition, not OSX. If all you are doing is installing Android stuff on the Windows partition, you should be okay.
Getting the best of both worlds! Being a dummy, how do i install windows on a mac or better still partision the system.

Do you make money with that machine?
I use a 2009 MBP (17") and upgraded the RAM to 6GB (more will follow) and an SSD and it is quite a snappy machine in PS CS5 with 12MP RAW photos. An ix-core MBP will be faster in calculating effects, thus if you do a lot of effects work that take five seconds on your current MBP, they will take two to three seconds on a newer MBP.

That's quite exciting. From the Appleinsider article i linked to a few posts back the ambient light sensor intrigued me. I'll have to wait until i see the actual thing of course because of the vague qualities of patent sketches, but the different screen functionality looks neat and the "now playing" screen's different changing factors at the bottom is a nifty concept. We'll see what happens...

hmm to me it says "A9 toolbar released for Mozilla Firefox" not camino :P
well I tried it out, it definately is a bit bulky, but not my cup of tea since the search box on firefox does the job well
Who (other than you) said that it said anything about being available for Camino?

AllofMP3 is exactly how all music selling sites should be. The possibility to choose exact what quality you want is great, no DRM is great, the price is of course also great.
If only the artists would get paid it would be perfect.
AllofMP3 is not doing too well now that VISA and Mastercard has blacklisted it, so download while you can before it's source of income is dead

The Optimum app was working fine for a few days when I was at home on my wireless network. As of last night I started getting an error which reads "you must be connected to your home network and signed in to watch Live TV".
Also yesterday I was finally able to connect via VPN from a wifi hot spot but got the same error message. So now I have 2 issues.
I can't connect from every wifi hotspot I try, only certain ones
I now can't connect to LIVE TV either at home or over vpn when away from home.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks! You think the hard drive itself is quiet too?
Edit: Just realized I upgraded my Tivo S3 with a 1TB western digital green and it is very quiet. I'll probably end up getting either a 1TB or 2TB drive for the recommended enclosure. Thanks!

Try http://www.vpnmaster.com
They are very fast and they have servers from USA, Canada, UK and Germany.
Best of all their service works perfect with Macs :)

As low as zero (no kidding) to maybe $300 or so. But then an original box, packaging, manuals, etc—but no Mac—sold for $536. Go figure.
The practical value is basically nothing. The collector's value is whatever the market will bear. Find the right sucker collector, and you could get a few grand out of it. You'd probably get the most return by donating it to a museum and claiming a deduction.

Another thing. I think we should always remember to put in the the source for images and photos that is uploaded and make sure we have permission to use those. Will keep us from getting into trouble later. :p

I have a 15GB iPod for windows and I am trying to convert AAC files (which are on my iPod) to MP3 files so I can transfer them on to my computer. Is there a way to do this with windows.

All I got was $15 for a complete Centris 650 earlier this summer. Thats completely functioning fresh install of OS 8.1, Apple monitor, Apple keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, to most people its still just an old 68k Mac. Granted yours is a later AV, but I still wouldn't expect much.

Wow. Let's hope it looks better than that diagram. Anyways this would be the ultimate iPod (Could be a 4 or 5 inch screen). Of course, the screen needs to be more scratch resistant than previous generations. And they have to bump up the resolution on their iTunes store. But I'd be surprised if we see this anytime soon.
Judging by the size of the fingers, this thing is at least 5x7. :D
If the entire surface of the ipod isn't more scratch resistant than previous generations I probably won't buy one. I have my cell phone in my pocket all day and it is barely scratched after months of daily use. My iPod 5G got those fine scraches on it just from sliding it into the case that *Apple included with the ipod*.
