I don't know if anyone has heard of this hosting service, Bluehost.
They are offering 4gigs of storage and 100gb of bandwidth for only $6.95/month.
the price isnt' that bad. what i usually ask when i get a new web hosting service is are you on any known spam list? Also, ask if they have a 30 day money back deal. i've gotten web host that sell accounts to spammers and usually all major email services, gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc block your mail servers. with the 30 day your have to time check that out. i would also ask if your bandwidth is throttled. alot of places tell you a 100 gb bandwidth, but the actually burst transfer sucks which will drag down a site with lots of photos.

Now the Mac app store is up and moving along with Apples own iLife suite apps, would people prefer buying them separately from the app store. or buying the retail box. ?
I bought Garageband, iPhoto and Pages all on the app store. Don't need the others, but the biggest draw was being able to re-download it on any new Mac I get in the future.

I'm still wondering how in the hell they are paying for all these free services offered to 10's of thousands of members (inc. me :D)...it just baffles me
i doubt they automatically set aside 1gb of space. i bet each user only uses as much space on the server as info they have on it. if a user signs up and never uses the service, only a few bytes are used, not a full gig.

Looks like it :)
I think "Wow!" every time I pass my hand over my Cube to wake it up or put it to sleep. And the G3 Powerbook still wows me as a piece of design. All my ex-Macs get passed on to my kids.
I have the WOW effect every day I use my PowerBook. It does what I want with some style. I like the way it thinks, just like me :)

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.

It's (significantly) cheaper.
It's better.
'Nuff said.

I don't remember the paper, but my friend gets it delivered in Draper.
It said you guys were up playing games on a projector and smoking meat or something. Sounded like a pretty good time lol.
I showed up at 4:15PM and was behind about 900+ people!
I'd like to read that if anyone can find it.
Ya some guys brought a big party tent and had two projectors in it. One had XBOX 360 and the other Sportscenter. They also brought a barbecue and made everyone pork and bacon and other stuff. They were awesome.
I'm guessing you didn't get an iPad that day, correct?

I have no idea if you can even get lower than Jaguar anymore but anyway I'm looking for a copy of Jaguar.
"Well Daed!" you might say, "Why would one need Jaguar when there are amazing updates like Panther and Tiger?" Read on pondering soul!
I'm going to need Jaguar specifically because it's the higher form of OSX my beloved G3 Pbook can take without me having to mess with XPost Facto. So! does anyone have this wonderful operating system? Also, I need it in CD-ROM form because back int he day, none of those crazy laptops had DVD drives! So yes! Get back to me!
Still have an ancient copy of OSX 10.1 if it even exists? Well then send it my way! I'll pay for it! Just let me know what you have!

ok 100Teraflops I use a Mac Pro daily for Music and Photography, The Mac Pro is a good beastie but alone it cant do the job, it must be paired up to a good Monitor, IPS panel if possible, I did use apple's but found the Dell's re-produced colour better. When you purchase your DSLR will you shoot RAW or Jpeg, think about it, RAW may be bigger files, but you can keep producing a good quality image from just 1 RAW file, On the subject of a scratch disk try and dedicate a complete disk as scratch.
my MP is set up as follows,
bay 1 :500gb for OS & apps
bay 2 :320gb as Scratch Disk
bays 3 & 4 : both have 1tb hdd's in a raid 1 configuration for music and stuff
All my RAW files & Aperture library are on a WD my book studio 4TB edition in a raid 1 via fw800 giving me 2TB to use, The system is simple and it works well. the big hdd's are all green WD drives. Hdd's are cheap now, but get the biggest you can afford (don't buy at the apple store), I find using Raid 1 I spend less time now backing up. The hardest part of photography is deleting images, you may take 100 shots and find only 2 of them are keepers, but getting rid of blurry, out of focus files will free up a lot of space,
you have had some excellent advice on here so far, and it will be nice to hear how you finally set up your workflow, keep us posted :)

I am guilty to be contributing to this. If I had never bought my iPhone 3GS in October 2009 I would not be buying a 27" iMac this year at 2011 refresh as well as getting an iPad2 by year's end. I also will be upgrading to iPhone 5. So yes if it wasn't for the IOS device I wouldn't be helping the Mac revenue. The IOS devices are definitely bringing new customers for the Mac
Interesting, I'm the exact opposite. Almost three years ago I bought an iMac on the urging of a friend. The experience was great, so much so I now own two iphones and an iPad in addition to the iMac. It can go in both directions.

It depends on how you're running the vm, full screen, coherence, etc. From full screen you hit control+option and click on the devices menu at the top then scroll down to CD/DVD1, that'll open a menu to the side and click on default CD/DVD. That will connect the disc drive to the vm, just remember to disconnect it when you're done.
Ahh great that worked thanks :D

Did u have version 1.0 in itunes? THe way it works is when itunes on mac or computer updates apps from app store, it moves old copy of the app to trash folder on mac or recycle bin on PC. So you can fish it out from there. If you never had it in itunes before then you are out of luck.
ahh yea, i never got to sync the app yet to itunes :( i updated to 1.0.1 on the ipad before i got the chance to sync, I just found this thread last night when i was trying to figure out how to do the VPN for the app. No wonder the VPN wasnt working, i was already on 1.0.1

The thing is, though, that all of this data is used by Final Cut.
I've known professional software to be very very picky about where files are located and relocating them can freak it the **** out.
Currently, I'm not using any RAID solution. So Final Cut recognizes that all these bajillion million files are spread across four drives.
How would I ensure that Final Cut doesn't spaz out and have an anxiety attack over "missing" files?

Yonah is more expensive than the G4.
iBooks will feature integrated graphics guaranteed. They already have OsX running on the Intel 915 chipset in developer macs. Most cheaper laptops use the same chipset. Apple have no reason not to use it in the iBook. It's a budget product to them.
This will create an immediate differential with the powerbook which will end up using a seperate gfx card.
Don't expect prices to much different across all product lines than they are now. Apple didn't switch to intel because they are cheaper (the new processors aren't) they did so because IBM couldn't keep up with theyre predicted roadmap.
