From Apple:
Wondering how youre going to get all your digital photographs into iPod photo? iTunes 4.7. The new version lets you import your images directly into iPod photo from a folder on the hard drive of your Mac or PC. Spent time organizing your photos using iPhoto on a Mac or either Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 on a PC? iTunes 4.7 rewards your diligence by importing the albums youve created in iPhoto or collections created in Album or Elements. Youll be able to choose them from the Photos menu on iPod photo.

My understanding is that you import only the albums you need into iTunes. I haven't used it myself, though.

that was my first test that I did because I successfully imported my outlook contacts from pc to mac address book.
After that mail didn't recognize the names but it did the email addresses.
So I added a name to the address book via right clicking the email address in the email sent to me and also by manually adding one in address book. Both still only find the contact via email address prediction.

Use Console (it's in the Utilities folder in Applications) and search for events (you want to search in the "All Messages" log). By default it will show everything just like event viewer does but unlike event viewer it allows you to search for something specific. This will narrow down the list tremendously. On the commandline you'd do something similar with tools like grep, tail, head, view, less, etc.

I have a video that i recorded back in October with my iPhone 4, but for some reason now it won't play. It says "The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie file. I have tried a bunch of different corrupted video repair software programs....i got one to convert a little bit of it (you have to pay over $100 to get the full converted video.) While the video is a nice short little video, it isn't worth $100 to have it ...however, is there another way to fix these? i know it helps to have a video that is a reference video shot around the same time, which i do. if anyone has any suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it.
Tried opening in other players then QuickTime? The message doesnt say the file is corrupted is why I'm asking. Try at least VLC, Handbrake, and MPEG Streamclip...

Okay, here is an update:
I spliced wires to match the mac motherboard connector, and the addition of an 24V adaptor to power the 25V line for the Apple ADC video. see an image of the FrankenPSU here (http://www.systemdisc.com/workarea.jpg)
I flipped on the power strip switch, powering the PS (pin 14 shorted) and the ac adaptor. The fan on the CPU spins, and a motherboard light powers on. The hard disk, however, will not start up with the motherboard connected. Also there is no video output.
I know my voltages for each connector pin are correct, but I have not checked current or paid any attention to rails. I don't know which Mac pin needs an independent +3.3V, for example, and which ATX wires provides it.
I wish I could post on xlr8yourmac, but the forums are closed to new users for some reason.

Hi,
Please can someone clarify or help me to understand my situation :
On the 30 March, I placed a online order with Apple UK for Apple Care Plan and iMac (both to be shipped within 24h). Today, 31 March, I received a package from TNT UK, and that is only the Apple Care Plan.
Where is the iMac ?
I phoned TNT UK and they told me that they never picked up a iMac. I phoned Apple, and when explaining my situation, the guy suddenly said "And you did not receive your iMac ?" (sounded not surprised).
Apple is contacting TNT and TNT is contacting Apple, since, no answer from both sides.
Could it be that the iMac (stock model) is not shipping from UK so TNT UK cannot trace it ?

Earlier this week, a report surfaced claiming that iOS 4.3.1 would be released with 1-2 weeks, and a follow-up report had that the release might address some battery life issues reported with iOS 4.3, although that has yet to be confirmed.
Apple indeed fixed the Battery performance issue from iOS 4.3, but just because, they added a new battery performance issue in iOS 4.3.1.

Now really a lot of information comes at first sight. I have to get used to it to find what I am looking for really fast. But the overall impression is good.
Again. Good work.
I hope that the forums redesgn keep a OS X look. Metal or not.

Linksys - WRT160N. Signal strength is at full bars. The smallest band i can do is what it currently is set at (Right now standard 20, with Wide 40 being the other option)
I just updated the router firmware (from 1.02.xx to 1.2.11) but did not notice any difference :(

CD-RW, not CD-RX. I'm sorry:o It says "Burning the disk failed because this type of CD is not supported. Error: 0x80020043. What am I doing?
Heather
Heather, what is "CD-RX?" I've never heard of that format. Is that interchangeable with CD-RW? The latter is the standard read-write format supported by most burners....

FCP HD on a 12" iBook can be fine if you are doing your plain editing with minimal effects.
With a lot of effects I would suggest either put more ram and get a faster HDD. Since FCP uses the HDD for scratch files even if you have more then 1gig of ram.
The screen is not too bad you can always span it, no biggy. :)
Though if you can afford it I would get the 15" PB for it.
